devconlogo Facebook Developers Mobile Devcon 2013The schedule for the Facebook Developers Mobile Devcon 2013 has been released. In light of recent news regarding Facebook’s stringent policies regarding third party developers, news such as this is truly welcome especially for app developers for mobile platforms. The conference will be taking place in New York on the 18th of April. On the 2nd of May, it will be held in London. Finally, Seoul will also host the conference on May 7th.

Developers attending the conference will be privy to speeches and other interactive activities for them to see where mobile development and social networking can mesh. Featuring speakers from companies such as Fab.com, GetGlue, and EyeEm, as well as a chance to speak one-on-one with Facebook engineers and product managers, developers can get valuable firsthand experience and anecdotes from some of the leading developers of the social networking and the mobile world. .

Evidently, this is all in tune to a rise of awareness regarding the power of mobile. Facebook itself is pledging to be a “mobile-first” company as it realizes that more and more people are turning to mobile devices for social networking needs.

According to the official developers’ blog of Facebook, the things in the agenda on the conference will include:

  • how to implement our iOSAndroid and JS SDKs to drive installs and engagement

  • how to best implement Facebook Login to bring trusted, cross-platform identity to your apps

  • best practices for using Open Graph to share rich and engaging stories back to Facebook

  • how to use Facebook to power engaging social, mobile games

  • design tips and product best practices to increase user satisfaction

  • the tools, libraries and techniques we at Facebook use to build our own iOS, Android and Mobile Web apps

It is undoubtedly a must for aspiring mobile developers to attend this event. More than just a hub for discussing all things technical regarding social networking and mobile development, this conference will also go a long way to assuage the fears of developers that Facebook is leaving app developers for dead.
