Playdom logo Facebook Game Developer Playdom Acquires Offbeat CreationsPlaydom, social game developer said Wednesday that it has acquired Bellevue, WA-based Facebook game developer Offbeat Creations Inc, creator of the dice-based online game Super Farkle.

Playdom has several popular games on Facebook like Sorority Life, Mobsters 2, Lil Farm Life, Tiki Farm, Tiki Resort, Wild Ones and Poker Palace to its credits with many of them making it in the 25 Top Facebook Games in February 2010, listed by ISG.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Offbeat founders Chia Chin Lee, Robert Reichner and Tom Fakes are said to be joining Playdom in leadership roles.

“With this acquisition we are bringing a talented new game studio into the Playdom family with a very exciting game pipeline,” said John Pleasants, CEO of Playdom.

“We have aggressive plans to expand our social gaming footprint in 2010 and the addition of Offbeat Creations will significantly enhance our development throughput and expand Playdom’s game pipeline this year,” Pleasants added.

Zynga, the largest game developer on Facebook, also acquired Serious Business for an undisclosed sum few weeks back. Also, Serious Business’ staff joined Zynga at the company’s San Francisco HQ as part of the business deal.
