Many people just create a facebook account and start using it. When you make a Facebook account, all your setting will be set to default. A setting that Facebook believes is moderate. Neither too strict nor too open.
In this tutorial and following tutorials with the title post containing “Facebook Settings:” in the tutorial category, we will see the different settings that are available the users.
To set your desired account settings, follow the steps given below. Refer to the image below.

1. Go to “Settings”, then select “Account Settings.”
2. The following page will display the “Settings” tab. Under this tab, you have the option to change or add your name, username, email, password, link accounts, security question, privacy, and deactivate your account. To change or edit any of the information there, click on the “Change” option available at the right side of each field. It is not impossible to change name or user name, but it will not be easy either. Facebook will go through the request, review it and confirm your request if they find it genuine. It is advisable to add or associated another email to your Facebook account and also set your security questions and answers, as this will help you at later dates. Many people forgets their password, or even the email with which they create an account. Also, if you happen to forget the password of the email that you used to create your Facebook account, or temporarily deactivate your Facebook account, then having an alternate email will help you to retrieve your Facebook easier. 3. Under the “Network” tab, you will be able to change or edit your information of your networks like workplace, organizations, school or colleges etc.
4. Under the “Notifications” tab, you will see the various activities on Facebook which will generate notifications. You can select or deselect the check boxes according to your needs. If a check box is selected, notifications associated with that activity will be send to you either through your mobile phone or email. It will also be published in your wall.
5. From this tab “Mobile”, you can activate your Facebook Mobile. Activating allows Facebook Mobile to send text messages to your phone. You can receive notifications for friend requests, messages, wall posts, and status updates from your friends or just about anything that you have selected in the Notifications tab. You will also be able to update your status, search for phone numbers, or upload photos and videos from your phone.
6. From the “Language” tab, you can choose your language setting.
7. From the “Payments” tab, you can enter/edit associate payments methods for your account. To be able to buy credits to buy gifts and other services offered by Facebook, you need to associate a credit card to your account. All the payment details can be entered/edited here.
