February 5, 2010

Facebook games!!!

I bet the first thing that came to your mind were titles like Mafia Wars, FarmVille, Texas Hold Em Poker, Pet Society etc.. Believe it or not, Facebook users will soon be playing action-pack games.

That’s right!

Indie Dev 3G Studios, who has previously developed games like Jillian Michaels’ Fitness Ultimatum 2009 for the Wii, SWAT:Target Liberty for PSP and games like Zombeat and The Deep for iPhone, is set to bring the first ever first-person shooter games on Facebook.

We want people to feel empowered and to share in a real video game experience.”
The Facebook FPS will allow players to create and customize their avatars and them play against Facebook friends in 3D environment. Interested parties can reserve their slot/screen names on the upcoming public beta here.

I am really looking forward to try my hands on this game. The idea of combining traditional gaming with the massive casual gaming platform is indeed very interesting. If the game can create a stir, then Facebook gaming and gamers will move towards a whole new level of online entertainment very soon.
