It’s common knowledge that Facebook is the largest social network on the web. What’s interesting is that Facebook has just announced that it is also the largest market, or at least the largest business directory. Facebook has just announced that the social network contains pages for over 15 million businesses. Wow, that’s a lot of brands.
What’s even more impressive is that this milestone came from a stunning rise of 2 million in just the past three months. That’s almost 700 thousand new business pages every month signing up for Facebook every month since December.
Furthermore, a Facebook representative told VentureBeat that this isn’t the only business-related area that Facebook triumphed on. Page Manager, Facebook’s mobile management app for brands, also experienced a boom on subscriptions. The number of businesses using Page Manager now exceeds the 8 million mark.
Advertisers and business owners are all a-flutter trying to figure out if Facebook advertising is a worthwhile investment. With Facebook Pages’ design having the beatiful Timeline design and cover photo schemes, there really is no reason for business to not have at least a Facebook Page. Whether they want to opt for the paid advertising plans that Facebook offers is another thing entirely.
The interesting point to drive home is that Facebook has announced that it is now a mobile-first advertising company. This comes from trend analyses and statistics that show that majority of advertising success now comes from mobile as most people nowadays use mobile primarily for social networking. It might be a good investment for businesses to utilize Facebook’s effort to monetize mobile and ride the wave with the social giant.
