The networking giant will showcase the News Feed makeover at a media event on March 7. The firm has sent invites for the event, which reads “Come see a new look for News Feed.

Word is the firm will show off a redesigned mobile version.

A TechCrunch report back in January hinted at Facebook testing a mobile News feed that abandons the traditional blue and white chrome for full-screen image tile and overlaid text.

News Feed, according to CEO and founder Mark Zukerberg is one of Facebook’s three main pillar. The other two being Timeline and Graph Search. Timeline was introduced in 2011 and rolled out to everyone in 2012, while graph search is just a few months old. Most users still don’t have it. News Feed on the other hand haven’t seen any major redesign, except for real-time “ticker” and ads that have started coming up.

So, we are hoping something big from the event, both desktop and mobile.
