Facebook Photo Slide Show Prototype Is Out

February 9, 2010

If you watch a lot of photos on Facebook or has large photo albums, then you know how tiring it can be clicking through the photos. There are lot of slideshow applications available on Facebook, but the news here today is Facebook has recently launched a prototype called Slideshow.

Since it’s a prototype, Slideshow is only available from Facebook’s prototype page. You can also go there through this link -  Slideshow prototype.

Once on the Slideshow page, click on the “Activate” button located below the page profile picture. You can also deactivate it whenever you want by clicking on the “Deactivate” button which will replace the “Activate” button. Don’t forget to become a fan of the pages as it is easier to deactivate the prototype from the fan page later. Believe me!! It’s hard searching for “Slideshow” through the search box.

Once the prototype is activate, you will see a “play” button between the “previous” and “next” links in a photo album. Click on the play option to start the slide show. You can also pause the slide show on any photo/image by clicking the “stop” option that replaces the play button during slideshow.

During slide show, each image is displayed for approximately 3 seconds. The prototype does not offer any customization options at this time. But since it is Facebook offering the prototype, we can expect an upgraded version within a short span of time.
