All the recent news about leaked images of Sony PS3 integrating Facebook is legit. Sony has officially announced that the upcoming PS3 firmware 3.10 update will bring Facebook integration to PlayStation 3′s XMB interface. The update will allow linking user’s Facebook account to their PlayStation Network account. Although it had already been possible to access social networks through the console’s Internet browser, the latest changes let users share their gaming achievements automatically as Facebook updates.
Eric Lempel, PlayStation Network Operations director, in blog post at official PlayStation Blog, stated that Facebook integration is just the beginning and Sony looks forward to add new features that enhance user experiences in future updates.
Let’s hope that the Trophy and PlayStation Store activity updates don’t annoy your fellow Facebook friends and users. For this feature, it’s Facebook that’ll have to make efforts to provide hiccup free News Feed. Apart from that, the revamped Photo category will allow easier view of photos stored. Users would be able to choose colors for their PlayStation Network ID on the XMB. Also, the PSN Friends list has been changed. Expect the new PlayStation 3.10 firmware update later this week.
