Many of our users are reporting a strange new phenomenon when trying to log into their Facebook accounts. Here’s what happens:
- Facebook user goes to www.facebook.com
- User types in username and password, clicks login
- User is confronted with a page filled with strange symbols and characters
This is most likely a bug on Facebook’s end, the only advice we have is to wait it out and hope that Facebook becomes aware of the issue and fixes it as soon as possible. The strange symbols at login were first reported by users of this site over a week ago, so it’s likely that Facebook is aware of the issue and hard at work on a fix.

Same problem with the symbols. Some said it was a Norton Anti Virus problem and it isnt. I checked. It aint a cookie or cache problem or anything like that. So I guess it’s true, just wait for facebook to fix that freakin problem D:<
yah im having the same problem too, but lets grow up and realize facebook isnt the only way to talk to people…the world is not over.
Having problem with Symbols on facebook
this has been going on for me for about 2-3 months now- makes me so mad. Im so grateful that I stopped my photography ads before this happened or else I wouldnt have not been able to pause them, change my numbers et. Leaving me with a fat bill!!! My Uncle is also dying, I just found out it could be any day now- I would have known this if I could have fricken gotten on facebook since he and his daughter are on it! Facebook- please hurry up and fix this problem!

I’m getting the symbols too, and it’s been over a week.
I’ve had this going on for a couple of months–incredibly frustrating!!! Get it fixed, facebook!

My Mother and I both cannot log into facebook because of the symbols.
I have been experiencing this problem for several weeks now. I could sometimes get around it (using the proxy signon or the lite.facebook signon) but I haven’t been able to get around it at all for a couple of days now. I can still access my account from other computers though. I am relatively new to facebook but became addicted to it quickly. I hope they fix this problem soon!
I am 90 yrs old and I am having this problem trying to log in to face book. There are different symbols coming on the screen. I use face book to keep in touch with my Family all of them g-g-g grandchildren, g-g grandchildren, g- grandchildren, and children. I broke my femur bone and this is good for me.
