Ending at no. 7 at last month’s top 20 Facebook Games, Texas Hold’em Poker has remained one of the untouchables in the world of Facebook games. There have been several card games showing up here and there, trying to pull it down, but none so far had been successful due to their limited style of poker. Recently, though, there is a name that is catching up in the competition. The new game app is the Broadway Poker (http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=5085682597).
Broadway Poker was developed by RJ Softwares. The same Agarwalla brothers behind the gaming hit Scrabulous (now known as Lexulous).
Texas Hold’em basically has two cards dealt to the players, and five community cards on the table for four rounds of betting. The players can either call, raise, or fold. Broadway Poker also has the same principle. However, the player’s advantage at Broadway Poker is that it allows users to replenish their virtual money, in case the player goes bankrupt, from the cashier for another 2,000 credits (every 3 minutes). Thus, allowing the users to keep on playing.
The juicy part of the game is not just the unlimited credits Broadway Poker provides the users, but the different modes of play: Texas Hold’em, Omaha Hi, Omaha Hi-Lo Split, and Double Dash. Among these, the most interesting game is Double Dash. It is more like the Omaha Hi, but the player gets two flops (the three face-up cards dealt at the board) instead of just one on the second round. Also, players use the two cards from the initial flop and the last two from the second flop.
The game may be a bit confusing especially for users who are not really into this kind of game. Good thing the developers thought of including a detailed help section to assist amateurs.
