fb CrimeCity 300x244 Facebook Game Review: Crime City

A little known game, Crime City, from a San Francisco developer Funzio has been quietly making its way up on the list of fastest-growing Facebook games, according to statistics from app data.

Mafia games have been great hits on Facebook and this game follows the ever popular Zynga’s Mafia Wars, with a nice mix of Role Playing Game(RPG), city building , and animated interaction. Crime City lets you deal with business in the old fashion way.

You start out as a rising thug, eager to prove yourself and take care of all your criminal business and enemies, build up your hood, take down other players, and become the richest, most respected, and bad-ass criminal of Crime City.

Jobs in the game can be anything from looting, hold ups, vandalizing to performing hits to taking care of your girlfriends needs. You earn cash and diamonds, and sometimes energy from doing jobs. There are ample amount of goals to complete in different areas. Both the diamonds and cash are needed to buy equipments in the game.

You can decorate your hood, expand it, and fill it with business buildings to collect cash. There are also special buildings in the game like coffee shop, garage. Special buildings require items to complete. For e.g. you will require a paint to complete building your coffee shop for which you have to ask your mafia members. You also have a resource building – Factory, which generates steel and which will be used along with cash to buy buildings. Some special building like the coffee shop will generate energy instead of cash. The size of your hood will also have a limit on the maximum number of buildings you can have.

fb CrimeCity stats 300x245 Facebook Game Review: Crime CityAs you level up, you can distribute your stat points to attack, defense, or energy skill. Your stats and equips, as well as that of your mafia members will come into play while determining your overall attack and defense, which will come into play as you take on other players, perform Hits on some NPCs or jobs. The store has scores of weapons, armors and vehicles to improve your character’s stat.

The game has all the common social elements like adding friends to your mafia, sending and receiving gifts, sharing bonuses, and helping each other.

All in all, this has got to be one of the best mafia game around on Facebook, because it has got a lot of interactivity. No more clicking on passive tasks. Your character walks around, and you actually get to hear them cocking the gun before performing a hit then bang!, or your baseball bat swinging. I am sure the developers will add more ways getting engaged with the game and friends in coming days.

If you are ready to start dealing with all your illegal business, then head on to the game.

fb music pets Zynga Acquires Music Pets Developer, Conduit LabsApart from giants like Facebook and Google, Zynga (a giant in its own way) is also shopping a lot behind the limelight.

The San Francisco-based gaming company seems set to take in all the social gaming start-ups.

Zynga announced the acquisition of Conduit Labs, though the financial terms were not disclosed. Zynga is also set to rebrand the company as Zynga Boston.

Conduit Labs have produced musical games like Super Dance and Music Pets on Facebook.

This is the fourth acquisition Zynga has made over the last few months around the world. In May, Zynga acquired ZPD Media of Beijing; June, it was Challenge Games of Austin, Texas; and in August, it was Japanese social game maker Unoh’s turn.

With the latest acquisition, Zynga will have base in Austin, Baltimore, Bangalore, Beijing, Boston, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.

There is something very satisfying about creating your farm, fish tank, or town and allowing it to flourish. The new game, TinyTown, does exactly that.

TinyTown is a new addition to the numerous Facebook games that we are already playing. It has just been around for two weeks but despite that, it now has almost 3,000 monthly active users.

TinyTown Beta 300x294 TinyTown: New City Building Game on Facebook

As the game’s name suggest, you play the game to build a town. In fact, the mayor wants you, a giant, to build the tiny town (tiny because you’re bigger than everyone else) for its citizens. You have a list of requirements that you have to meet per level. Initially, you only have to provide some homes and jobs for the citizens. However, at level 5 you will also be required to provide power and water. At level 20 you will be required to provide waste management, educational, and health systems.

The buildings take time to build, although it is possible to do it faster (as quickly as 1 minute!). To do this, you must hire more workers for a higher cost, of course.

The money that you need in constructing this town comes from taxes that the citizens pay. The City Hall’s capacity to hold the taxes for you are limited. So once it reaches its limit, you will need to withdraw everything before it starts accumulating taxes again.

The game is quite addictive because it is initially effortless to level up and expand the land that you can build on. It easily gives you a sense of accomplishment, although the requirements do increase as your level increases.

The game was produced by Domisuto LLC. The company was only formed in October of last year. (To play on Facebook click HERE.)
