My City Life developers launched yet another city-building game on Facebook titled as City of Magic. The game was launched today and it already amassed 68,000 players.

City of Magic is a magic themed city-building game. Players can become the lord of their own dark city in this game. The game is governed by certain stats, just like in My City Life, which the player have to take into account when they are building their city.

The game also promises to brings spells to learn and quests to complete with the dark caves. The city has different stats like wizards, dark Magic, fame, travel, magic, evil Presence, mana, and wisdom, which the player have to balance in order to progress through the game.

Now, do wizards and witches need money?? Well, they do and players can get them in the form of taxes from different buildings and structures.

Expansion of city, involvement of friends, daily free coins and gifts, bonuses from published stories, visiting and helping friends are all included in the game and works like any other social game on Facebook.

Two things that makes this game interesting apart form just collecting money and building up the city is the need to balance the city stats and collectibles. There are certain items that cannot be bought, but are available in free gift which can be sent and received. After collecting enough amounts of the required items, players can trade them for some really cool items in the game. Getting a collectible is hard and will take a long time unless one has a good amount of loyal friends who would send them every day.

The game doesn’t offer many items and the graphics are average. Game play is little bit hard – building and arranging building involves some time. But, with the involvement of city stats, collectibles and spells and quests that will be launched soon makes it a game worth trying.

If you have enough of city, farm, and country life, have a taste of Magic life at City of Magic.

Despite the huge array of SimCity-like games on Facebook, including Playdom’s Social City, Metrogames released its newest game, entitled Towner. The game currently has over 1.7 million monthly active users and this number is expected to increase over the coming days.

Towner Build Your Own Facebook Virtual Town with MetroGames Towner

Just like the rest of its contemporaries, the player is granted a piece of land where he or she can build a town. In general, the game starts at purchasing a building, placing on the player’s desired location, clicking on its flooring so that the construction may begin, and clicking on the finished structure to inaugurate it. Money for construction can be earned from dues paid by tenants renting the buildings.

However unlike many city building games, Towner requires a lot of interaction with the player. If a building is ready to be inaugurated and the player fails to click on the building within a certain amount of time, the building will be condemned (like farm crops that rot if not harvested in time). In addition, rent paid from tenants will be lost if these are not claimed.

There are also two other important things to maintain in the town: quality and happiness. Quality is maintained whenever buildings are repaired, and these are repaired at regular intervals.  If repair is missed, quality will go down and the next repair will be more expensive. To keep happiness among residents, in contrast, the player must have enough fire stations and buildings for jobs, entertainment, security, health, and education.

The game has one unusual feature. This is the player’s inability to lay down roads. Nevertheless, it is easy to be creative in this game since there are weird structures that the player can build including a UFO monument and the Sphinx. (Click HERE to play.)

Tired of the usual role-playing games in Facebook where you play as a farmer that plows farmlands, plants, and harvests crops or as a chef that decorates his own restaurant and cooks recipes for customers? Digital Chocolate, a publisher of over 80 social games in various media such as those in Facebook, smartphones, and Xbox, introduces its latest Facebook game, NanoTowns.

NanoTowns NanoTowns: Your Very Own City on Facebook

NanoTowns is similar to other city-building games like Domisuto’s TinyTown and Broken Bulb’s MyTown. While some of the city-building games earn money by leaving it standing for some time, in NanoTowns the player will have to take on missions to take care of the people living in apartments or working in stores. For example, if the crew of the hamburger store wants to drink coffee, the drink must be made in the coffee shop and delivered to the hamburger store.

To help, the game lets the player hire friends in order to decrease the production time, thus producing more goods. In addition, the production of goods as well as the construction time of buildings can be made instantaneous by paying more Town-Coins. These goods can also be bought in the market so that the player will not need to construct buildings that produce those goods.

Similar to other Facebook games, certain NanoTowns items can only be bought using DC-cash. At the beginning, the player only has 1 DC-cash. However, more can be bought using credit cards, PayPal, or Boku.

NanoTowns also lets players send gifts and various items to their friends which are useful in jazzing up a city’s design. So, play NanoTowns (click HERE) and see whose city looks the best!
