FacebookHackerCup 225x300 Facebook To Hold Worldwide Algorithmic Programming Contest 2011Computer engineers and computer geeks can win a free trip to Palo Alto, cash and perhaps a job offer too. Facebook announced the  Facebook 2011 Hacker Cup 2011 competition which can be the ticket to your three wishes above.

“We’re starting the Hacker Cup to bring engineers from around the world together to compete in a multi-round programming competition.  Contestants will have to successfully solve algorithmic-based problem statements to advance and are ranked by accuracy and speed,” wrote Tim Stanke in a note announcing the Facebook 2011 Hacker Cup.

The event is an annual algorithmic programming contest open to hackers from around the world.

Registration for the competition with prizes of $5000, $2000 and $1000 for the first, second and third place winners respectively starts from December 20th.

An online qualification round will be held on January 7th followed by two more online round scheduled on January 15th and January 22nd.

The top 25 competitors will be flown to Palo Alto by Facebook for the final showdown on March 11th.
