Facebook has announced plans for a second custom-built data center facility in near Forest City in Rutherford County, North Carolina by investing up to $450 million.
Facebook is also currently another data-center at Prineville, Oregon.
The construction of this 300,000 square foot data center in North Carolina is expected to take around 18 months and create more than 250 construction and mechanical jobs, and when completed, is expected to employ around 45 full-time and contract workers.
Facebook joins other high profile companies like Google, Apple, and American Express to select North Carolina for their data centers.
