Facebook game developer Wooga (“World of Gaming) celebrated its first anniversary with 10 million MAU (monthly active users).
Surprisingly, only 3 percent of the 10 million users were raked in through advertising, according to the CEO Jens Begemann.
The German social game developer ranks eight among the top social games developer, and is the largest in Europe.
Wooga’s Facebook games include Brain Buddies, Bubble Island, and Monster World. Monster World’s userbase doubled in last 30 days according to the developers. Bubble Island bagged the Best Social Game in the European Games Award 2010.
The company was founded in January 2009 by Jens Begemann and has raised around €5 million so far. It is the only Facebook developer doing full localization of its games with fan pages, local virtual goods, and customer care.
The company is currently working on its fourth title, which is expected to launch soon.
