Spotify has made its debut in the US today. This music streaming has been a rage in Europe. Now, you can stream any music free, or not.
You can create and share playlist with friends, play local files, or browse and listen to million of tracks from Spotify.

Spotify comes in three versions – Free, Unlimited, and Premium. If you go for Free account, you will have to bear the music interruption for commercials, and banner ads hanging around. There is also a monthly listening limit. To make it worse, the free version not available without invitation and invites seems to be limited – anyway if you are cheap like me, head over to Spotify.com, enter your email address and hope for an invitation soon. Good Luck!

The Unlimited version comes with a price tag of $4.99/monthly and allows you unlimited access from desktops without the advertisement. Access to the service is limited to desktops.
Premium account provides all the benefits of Unlimited accounts, with the added ability to use the service on your mobile device, and cache music to playback offline. Premium account comes for $9.99/month.
The Spotify music catalog has over 15 million songs.
Spotify also integrates with Facebook. You will be able to see your Facebook friends who are also using Spotify, and see their recommended playlist, artist and songs. You can also publish the songs that you’re listening.
Have you tried the service? What is your opinion?
The news just gets better and better for Facebook users. Facebook finally launched video calling on Wednesday. Though one-to-one, it was a welcomed feature.
People read about it, tried their hands on and went on with their life except for one, Jeff Rose, who went through the codes because he was curious about what he was installing and how it interacts with Skype. And behold! He found the installer supports two applications: One called “Peep,” which is related to the video chat client; and another one called “Vibes,” which is apparently related to music downloading app.
Activities like listening, sharing, talking about music etc. are all social activities. So, it makes sense that Facebook want to be a part of it.
Facebook has definitely got something up its sleeves – something more than just an “app to listen to music online.”
Facebook is finally integrating music to our options! In a recent blog post, Facebook has stated that users will now be able to send music to their friends. As with everything in life, there are pros and cons to this new addition. As the saying goes “nothing in life is free”. That’s right; you will have to pay a small fee when accessing music from them.
Hopefully you have good friends who think you’re worthwhile enough to spend a few cents on you. Yes, only a few cents. The music files must be purchased with Facebook credits. Credits run for 10 cents apiece and can be purchased with a credit card. This shouldn’t be too shell shocking for you. If you haven’t noticed yet, gifts that used to be free now cost “credits” as well.
The “Music and MP3” section is being powered by LaLa.com and will offer 8 million songs. Prices will range from one credit to nine credits. Songs can be played by the recipients from their News Feed and Wall as often as they like. They will also be able to access these songs at LaLa.com if they have an existing account or would like to sign up using Facebook content.
One of the best pluses to this addition is that recipients will be able to download the songs and utilize them on other media players like iTunes and Windows Media Player. The downside, maybe, is that if you travel to a friend’s page and click on the song, you can hear the full version once and after you will only be able to hear a clip. Hey, they have to make money somehow, no? Jam away!
