A no-nonsense father from North Carolina is making national headlines after he posted a video response to his daughter’s “disrespectful” Facebook rant.

Tommy Jordan said his 15-year-old daughter, Hannah, wrote a letter entitled “Dear Parents” on Facebook complaining about the chores she had to do around the house.

According to a report on ninemsn, Hannah blocked her parents from seeing it, but her father, an IT professional, somehow managed to view the post.

The father upset about the rant took his frustration on her daughter’s laptop, in what he described as a dose of “tough love”.

Jordan filmed an 8-minute video response to Hannah’s letter and posted it on her wall for all her friends to see.

In the video, he reads out his daughter’s letter and says, “I don’t know how to say how disappointed I am in you, and how disrespectful you were to every single adult in your life.”

“Kid, you’ve got it easy, way easy. It’s about to get harder, it’s about to get a whole lot harder.”

Mr Jordan then pulls out a handgun and shoots nine bullets into Hannah’s computer, including “one from mum.”

The video titled “Facebook parenting: For the troubled teen” has gone viral on YouTube with over 800,000 views in just two days.

Mr Jordan’s post on Facebook that read, “Today was probably the most disappointing day of my life as a father and I don’t know how to correct the situation. Since I can’t seem to make any headway with my daughter on Facebook, I chose instead to remedy the problem permanently,” with a link to the YouTube video has also attracted more than 13,000 likes, about 6000 shares, and almost 7000 comments at the time of writing.

While some feels that the action was immature, most comments praised his action.

Tasmania police are investigating into how a teenage prison escapee managed to give notice about his plans on Facebook weeks before the the jailbreak.

Kyle Leslie Lynch and James Peter Samson, age 19 and 21 years respectively, escaped from the Ron Barwick prison late on Saturday.

Lynch reportedly announced his intentions on Facebook that read, “Kyle Leslie Lynch is getting out sooner than yas think boys. Its gonna be on!”

It is believed that the post was made through a mobile device, which is banned in Tasmanian prisons.

“No inmate in any of the Tasmania Prison Service facilities has access to Facebook. Most of the Facebook accounts are maintained by friends and families, so that matter will be the subject of an investigation as well,” acting prisons chief Greg Partridge told the ABC.

A state wide police search is underway for the two inmates. The two escapees are not considered dangerous, but police have warned that they should not be approached.

An Illinois man accidentally shot a nail into his brain, and he was completely unaware of it until he went for check-up after feeling nauseous the next day.

Dante Autullo, from Orland Park, Illinois, shot himself in the head with a nail gun when he was building a shed. He assumed the nail had missed and went out to plow some snow, the BBC News reported.

But the next day, he felt nauseous after a nap. So he went for a checkup. He thought the doctors were joking when they told him about the nail (3.25 inch) lodge in the middle of his brain.

He reportedly posted the picture of the X-ray on his Facebook page as he was rushed to another hospital for surgery. But, the X-ray was so shocking, that family friends though it was a hoax when he posted it on his Facebook wall.

While there are pain-sensitive nerves in the person’s skull, there are none within the brain, which explains what happened. Yet shocking, right?

An Indian student was shot dead in Greater Manchester on Boxing Day, and sadly, family members came to know of it only through Facebook.

Anuj Bidve, 23, took admission in Lancaster University in October this year and was on Christmas vacation in Manchester City with his friends where he was shot dead, near their hotel.

So far, five persons have been arrested in connection to the murder. The murder weapon, believe to be a small handgun, is yet to be found. Police says they are treating the murder as a hate crime even if there is no evidence because of concerns within the community.

The father accused British authorities of failing to contact him in India to break the news of the death. He revealed that he found out about his son’s death over Facebook.

According to a report on The Times of India, condolences and messages extending help has been pouring in on the ‘Anuj Bidve Help Page’ on Facebook, with some even offering to help the bereaved family get their only son’s body back to Pune.

The Indian Government also stepped in and decided to bear the expenses of bringing Anuj Bidve’s body to India.

A woman and her son held captive in a Utah home for several days were rescued after the woman’s plea for help on Facebook were reported to the police.

The woman’s post that said she and her son would be “dead by morning” prompted someone to call police. She reportedly posted her SOS message from a laptop while hiding in the closet.

According to the Tribune, the victims phones, were taken away and they were not allowed to leave home.

The woman told the police that she was choked every time she tried to leave home. Her husband, the accused, would not let her feed their family dog, and had even “thrown” her 17-month-old son at her. She was repeatedly hit, and sexually assaulted over a period of nearly five days.

The accused, Troy Reed Critchfield, 33, was arrested and booked for investigation of aggravated kidnapping, aggravated assault, domestic violence, child abuse, animal cruelty and other charges.

Mr. Critchfield who already has a history of felony-level assault against her is being currently held in the Salt Lake County jail without bail.

Sean Duffy, the accuse who posted malicious messages and vile pictures on Facebook tribute pages.

In a case of cyber trolling, Sean Duffy 25-year-old British man was sentenced to 18 weeks in prison and has been banned from using social networking sites for five years. He posted malicious messages and vile pictures on Facebook tribute pages set up in remembrance of teenage girls who had died.

Among his victim was Natasha MacBryde, a 15 year old, who died after being hit by a passenger train. Duffy posted on the remembrance page of late MacBryde calling her a ‘slut’, ‘I fell asleep on the track lolz’. He also posted a video titled ‘Tasha the Tank Engine’ offensively showing Miss MacBryde’s face onto the front of the famous train.

On another victim, he created a Facebook page entitle RIP Lauren Drew. He posted ‘Lauren’s rotting body’ on one image and a video with a picture of coffin saying ‘Happy Mothers Day’ ending with a message “I don’t know why you’re all crying down there, it’s soaking here in hell”.

At first, he created a mock account of Hayley Bates who died in a car crash, posted a defacing picture of her with big crosses over her eyes and stictches over her forehead. One of her picture caption reads, “Used car for sale, one useless owner”.

Duffy also targeted Jordan Cooper, who was stabbed to death. He created a group called “Jordan Cooper in pieces” and added a video showing Jordan’s picture with his eyes crossed out and slashed across his face”.

Apparently, Duffy didn’t know any of his victims. He was guilty to two counts of sending malicious communications relating to Natasha. He will also face court trial for the other three cases of Facebook trolling which he is asking for consideration at Reading Magistrates’ Court.

Two mothers were arrested on Wednesday in connection of a brutal teenage fight video that was posted on Facebook. The video originally posted on a teen Facebook page, shows footage of the fight between their two teenage girls age 16 and 17.

Police said that moms took their daughters to Harter Park in Union City, Indiana and encouraged them to fight while stopping others from breaking it up.

Theresa Mendendall, 38 and Brandy Mills, 33, are in custody on charges of neglect of a dependent and could fetch them up to 18 months in prison. The video also showed several other onlookers at the fighting site but non of them tried to intervene.

Union City Police Chief Cobie Wells said: “We will not tolerate acts like these, and we will seek criminal charges against anyone involved, including those who stand by and do nothing”.

About 20 onlookers have been identified so far by the police and they have been banned from entering the park in the future. The two teens involved in the fighting could also face charges of disorderly conduct. The video is no longer available to watch in Facebook.

In a funny incident, a distraught German newly wed Sandra Scharf recovered her lost wedding dress from a Rum Barrel Bar in Key West earlier this week.

The owner of the bar was delivered a garment bag by some tourist reported to be fallen from a vehicle. “I opened it up and said, Oh my God,” Thibault, owner of the bar told The Associated Press. “If they’re going to be married, they’re going to need this”.

Thibault, at first thought of calling the police but instead posted a note about the dress on Island Dogs Facebook page, asking patrons to repost.

While, Scharf and her new husband Michael had honeymoon in the Keys and were on their way to the airport, when they realized they’d lost the wedding dress. The dress was so important for them since the couple who got married in Captiva Island were also arranging a recepton back in Germany and Scharf had planned to wear her wedding dress.

They returned to Key West but searched with no luck until they came to the Rum Barrel. A waitress there said to the couple that she recalled seeing a Facebook posting of the lost dress. They were directed to Island Dogs by the waitress and apparently the couple found their wedding dress.

Things came to a happy ending and definitely credit goes to the logical positivism of the bar owner and the wonder of Facebook.

A student of Crafton Hills College, threatens a Virginia Tech-style attack on his school.

Stanley Roring, a 30-year-old student of Crafton Hills college in southern California was arrested on Tuesday, hours after he bragged a terrorist threat on his Facebook page.

Investigators said, they recovered evidence at Roring’s home who was planning a ‘Virginia Tech-style’ attack on students and staff at Crafton Hills College. He also made another threat reference to a “genocide” occurring. “We do believe that the threats were legitimate,” said Cindy Bachman of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

Roring pleated not guilty Thursday to a felony count of making a terrorist threat. He was charged with making terrorist threats and was being held in jail on $50,000 bail. He also has a record of pleading guilty in 2007 for possession of firearm, wherein he was sentence for 33 days and was placed on three years of probation.

The intention of the target is unclear, but for whatever it was, sheriff’s spokesman Cynthia Bachman said “If he was mentally prepared to commit a violent act like this or if he was looking for some attention, he definitely got some attention from law enforcement”.

Attila Ban, 31, has been charged on Saturday, for the murder of two of his colleagues at the Radisson Edward Heathrow hotel last week. Both the victims, Tibor Vass, 20 and Alice Adams, 20 died of multiple stab wounds. He was arrested from a hospital after he attempted suicide by cutting his wrist and throat.

Attila Ban, a Hungarian national, have grown close to fellow Hungarian Vass while they work together as receptionist at the Hotel but Vass was more inclined with Alice when she started working at the hotel. The incident revolves around a love triangle, whereby Ban was in a relationship not with Alice but with Vass. An earlier post on Ban’s Facebook page mentioned visiting a gay club in London’s Soho.

Ban posted on his Facebook page last Wednesday, hours before he allegedly stabbed his two colleagues to death: “I would like to wake up from that nightmare”.
As the accused was identified and charge with the murder, the family of Alice paid tribute to her loss- “Alice touched the hearts of everyone she ever met. Her capacity to spread love was unprecedented and her spirit will live on forever”.

The accused, Attila Ban has been remanded in custody and will appear at the Old Bailey tomorrow (August 16).
