According to a new infographic from Pingdom, Swedish Facebook users log on to the site an average of 6.1 times a day.

The infographic from Pingdom is based on a study by the University of Gothenburg.

According to the infographic, Sweden has 4.5 million Facebook users, out of which, 3.1 million log in every day.

While majority of Swedes use Facebook for maintaining contacts, Facebook has become a part of daily routine for 84% of the users, and about one third says they log in to Facebook before realizing that they did it.

The fairer sex seems to be more addicted to Facebook with 30% of them saying they feel bad if they can’t log in regularly. They also spend more time, 81 minutes on average every day, on the networking site than their male counterparts who spends an average of 64 minutes.

Titled as “The biggest Facebook Study” in Sweden, the infographic reveals is jam-packed with data.

One in five employees are friends with their boss on Facebook according to a survey.

The result was based on a survey of 1,000 adults conducted online by Russell Herder. The sample size is very small compared to the over 850 million Facebook users, and result of online surveys can be skewed as the participants tend to be more technologically-inclined. So, the real proportion may be way lower, but the results are interesting. So, lets have a look.

Some interesting findings of the survey include:

  • 21 percent of employees are friends with their boss, especially those in the younger age categories.
  • 5 percent of the respondents used to be friends with their bosses on Facebook, and wish the poll had asked which party had ended the friendship.

Among those who reported being connected with their supervisor on Facebook -

  • 46 percent say they intitiated the connection where as 38 percent claim the friend request came from their supervisor.
  • Almost one-third of men say their connection enables them to do their job at least somewhat more effectively while only 15 percent of women believes so.
  • 53 percent of men say they use the social platform to communicate in a professional context compared to only 37 percent of women.
  • 70 percent of use it for social purposes.

The report also offered five suggestions for managers and HR executives:

  1. Draft an official social media policy.
  2. Define appropriate boundaries.
  3. Apply standards universally.
  4. Don’t overreact.
  5. Explore internal social networks.

Facebook has over 845 million users today, with users from over 200 different countries.

The United States with more than 155 million Facebook users continues to be the largest Facebook nation, followed by India at a distant second with about 43.5 million Facebook users.

The country with the smallest user base, according to data from socialbakers, is the Vatican City with 20 Facebook users.
