facebook dollar 300x262 Newark School Blessed With $100 Million From ZuckerbergMany people might have already heard about Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is going to donate to help revamp Newark schools.

The news hit the world yesterday and my first though was “wow.” I looked around for more details and all i got was everyone saying how he is trying to save his image.

Well you got to, looking at the amount of generosity and the timing. This donation is by far the biggest Zuckerberg made so far. He even donated to the anti-Facebook project Diaspora. Facebook’s movie, The Social Network, opens the 48th New York Film Festival, while Zuckerberg discuss about the donation on The Oprah Winfrey Show. Adding to it, Facebook’s outage hit the news all over the globe. icon smile Newark School Blessed With $100 Million From Zuckerberg

Zuckerberg’s gift will make sure that he is listed not only in the Forbes rich list, but also in the list of generous billionaires.

The bottom line, personally, is that he has done something good even if he harbors a symbiotic reason behind the smiling face. What do you think?

Tech Crunch noticed and reported a small problem on Facebook.

The problem is you cannot block Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg anymore.

zuck unblock Why You Cant Block Mark Zuckerberg?

Why? Why does he have this extra cool feature on Facebook? Isn’t being the CEO of Facebook cool enough? Why does he has to have something which will be the envy of over 500 million users? How can he be so vain?

Mashable reported about an E-mail from Facebook clarifying the matter. According to the Facebook representative:

“This error isn’t specific to any one account. It’s generated when a person has been blocked a certain large number of times. In very rate instances, a viral campaign will develop instructing lots of people to all wrongly block the same person.”

Being the only unblockable user on Facebook is cool thing, but it seems like our Zuck has been a target of mass hate campaign or was a mass fun campaign. So this no-blocking rule can be called a no-bullying rule.

In fact, an anonymous person started Blockzuck.com to convince people to do that. Maybe, Zuck or an engineer found out and wanted to give an answer to that icon smile Why You Cant Block Mark Zuckerberg?

Paul Ceglia, the man who claims that he owns 84 percent of Facebook Inc., shed interesting light on the alleged contract between him and Mark Zuckerberg.

According to a report on Bloomberg, Ceglia says that the lawsuit would not have happened had he not been arrested and had to look through some old files.

Everyone can now assume that this is his answer to the many people who have been asking, why he waited seven years to make the claim?

Now that the contract is found, he says he’s going after Mark Zuckerberg because a deal is a deal.

Andrew Logan, StreetDelivery’s founder and CEO, enters the scene to give more spices into this Facebook ownership drama.

Logan claimed Ceglia was under contract to StreetDelivery in 2003 when the latter set up StreetFax and hired Zuckerberg.

If Ceglia’s contract with Zuckerberg gives Ceglia an ownership interest in Facebook, that interest may belong to Logan, he said.

“We’re going to lay claim that I own it,” Logan added.

Meanwhile, Henry Blodget at the Business Insider, wrote in an article that the checkbook evidence in the case is almost certainly a forgery.

If you have been following the story of this latest tug-of-war between Ceglia and Mark Zuckerberg for the ownership of Facebook, you know that the ‘contract’ between Ceglia and Mark Zuckerberg entered into two separate transactions of $1000 each, one for development work of StreetFax and one for The Face Book.

So far Facebook and Mark Zuckerberg have the upper hand in the case. How the case ends rest in the hand of the court.

Facebook on Friday backs Mark Zuckerberg with an official statement stating that the lawsuit filed by Ceglia claming 84% of the company is based on a contract that was likely “forged.”

“Mark has made it clear that Ceglia’s claims are absurd and we strongly suspect the contract is forged.”

This latest lawsuit against Facebook by Paul Ceglia is not the first for both – Facebook and Ceglia.

Back in 2007, a lawsuit was filed against Facebook by co-founders of the Site ConnectU, alleging that Zuckerberg took Facebook’s software code and business plan from them. The parties eventually reached an agreement that granted ConnectU $65 million in Facebook stock and cash.

Ceglia, on the other hand, has an ongoing case against him. He along with his wife Lasia, has been accused of defrauding customers of their wood-pellet fuel company, Allegany Pellets. The company allegedly took $200,000-worth of pre-orders fro wood pellets and then failed to deliver them.

With Facebook crying foul over the originality of the contract, which is so far produced in electronic format only and the current lawsuit against Ceglia, what most people think might turn out true – forgery.

But then again, Mark Zuckerberg seems unsure of the contract and it’s details – I think we were quite sure that we did not sign a contract that says that they have any right to ownership over Facebook.

We don’t see Ceglia wining this, unless the genuinity of the document is confirmed. Meanwhile, the current lawsuit has already caused some problems for Facebook with a temporary restraining order issued by the court.

Who Is Mark Zuckerberg?

April 10, 2009

Mark is the force behind Facebook. He is the founder and CEO of Facebook who has achieved masses of great success at an early age. Mark started Facebook back in 2004 with his college roommates Chris Hughes and Dustin Moskovitz.

Currently Mark holds the responsibilities of defining the product strategy for Facebook and also technically involved in designing Facebook services and development and enhancement of Facebook infrastructure. Synapse, a music recommendation system, and Wirehog, a peer-to-peer client (such as Limewire, uTorrent) were also Mark’s project that he abandoned for the success of Facebook.

Mark is a graduate from Harvard University (Computer Science). In his student life, Mark has always been a creative student wanting to do new experiments. Facemash is one of the creation of Mark which he developed while in the university. It was a website which compared students’ dorm photos with similar features of HOT or NOT. Unimpressed Harvard University administration then took disciplinary actions against Mark for the website he created. With the determination, he worked towards his next big thing and launched Facebook within three months of Facemash incident.

Started as an ordinary website in 2004, Facebook evolved in to different stages such as a website with news feeds, dynamic applications, and eventually a platform for development. That’s why you now see a lot of third party developers developing applications for Facebook.

According to Forbes, Mark Zuckerberg is ranked as the 321st richest person in the Unites States, with a net worth of $ 1.5 billion.
