Shaker brings Facebook user into a new virtual pub with avatar-based chat rooms where they can move around and socialized with other people. Here it brings new interactivity to redefine Facebook.

TechCrunch writes, “Shaker is a mixture of Second Life, The Sims, and Turntable.fm all mixed together using your Facebook data and connections. Your Facebook profile becomes a walking avatar, your pictures are placed on a virtual wall, you can choose what music is playing in the room for everyone to hear and you can even buy people drinks.”

Yonatan Maor, the site’s chief executive, claimed: that the site is just for flirting, not really for dating. But since these are real people, he said, users will quickly move off of the virtual dance floor and into real life.

Though there is a little controversy on Shaker winning the Disrupt Cup, but on winning this competition, it has open a new horizon for Shaker to make every endeavor in moving forward with the gain exposure and publicity. When the app is open to the larger audience, we expect the company will do away with all traction and offer much to its anticipated fans.

The expectation of Facebook iPad app has been over a year since the iPad was launched. Last month, Facebook was expected to roll out its imminent app for Apple’s iPad but it was all out in the wild. But recent report from TechCrunch says that Facebook’s iPad app is already available for use.

The discovery was made by an Australian engineering student named Marvin Bernal. While studying around the code for Facebook’s iPhone app, found the code for the tablet-optimized app is hidden inside the latest update of iPhone app, which according to report is what Facebook plans to release soon.

According to the discovery, the iPad app is more a modern look than the old iPhone version. On the  left side menu, it has a list to navigate between your wall, info, photos and friends. Below the status bar, there are more icons which takes you to different features. It has a various pop-up windows to update your status, search or perform other functions.

The screenshot provided proves that it is a huge improvement  with rich HTML-5 application that looks superb that can established Facebook in its new environment for tablet users. The iPad app would be the first tablet program actually build and developed by the social network.

MG Siegler of TechCrunch says, it is possible to run the hidden app, but it requires altering things which is technically not supposed to do (illegal). It is better we just wait for the official launch.
