At f8 conference Facebook announced a new type of frictionless app called the 'Open Graph' for social media partners, since then users have shared more articles than ever on Facebook.
As part of Facebook publication integration, the ‘Open Graph’ social news app system was launched since f8 in September and it proves to be popular and engaged upon by many users.
This social app, lets users to share with their friends whatever news stories they have been reading online and also to know what their friends have been reading. The experience has been very successful among media partners to expand their visibility to a larger audience as well as among users to share quickly and easily their social media contents.
The Open Graph Figure released by Facebook shows that the Guardian app has 1 million daily active users and has reached 4 million monthly active users in the month of October, an overall increase of 12.23 percent. Apparently, most of the active users are aged 24 and under.
Similarly, the Washington Post app has 3.5 million active users at present with 83 percent under 35 years old. The Independent has more than 1 million active readers for its app. Yahoo News with its 10 million app users has also seen a 600 percent increase in traffic.

Besides, The Huffington Post has become the latest media partner to launch a social news app on Facebook.
