A three minute video clip has put Facebook and YouTube in trouble.
The video titled ‘Indian Army repeating Abu Gharib in Kashmir’ shows Kashmiri youths being paraded naked by uniformed personnels. The video packaged with subtitles and background music is being circulated on Facebook and YouTube.
The Union government of India says the video is still not authenticated and will security agencies are looking into the matter.
“Until it is authenticated and the persons identified, i think it will be unwise to rely on such a video,” said P Chidambaram, Home Minister, India.
Jammu & Kashmir, India, police says it will register a case against the two networking sites for uploading the video.
“A formal case is being registered against the YouTube and Facebook networks and investigation is on to locate the persons responsible for uploading this baseless and malicious clip,” a police spokesman told PTI, “Action shall also be taken against other organisations who tried to propagate it.”
