Zynga games

Leading social game maker, Zynga, launched its first hidden object and puzzle game on Facebook titled “Hidden Chronicles.”

Hidden Chronicles has familiar features with other hidden-object and puzzle games with intricate scenes and a list of hidden objects that players must find before time runs out, in order to gather points and to progress with the story.

On starting the game, you are summoned to your Uncle Jeffrey’s estate, after his suspicious death. It’s up to you now, to unlock different location at his mansion and various parts of the estate and progress with the story of the game.

The game also includes leaderboards, a home base (players own Manor, which can be customize), quests, and several mini-games inside the game. The game also has some surprise elements, like certain scenes in the game becomes available when players challenge a friend to a contest. In addition, certain scenes can only be unlocked with reputation points, which you can amass by doing things such as sending gifts to friends.

The graphics of the game has a photorealistic style, quite different from the cartoonish graphics most of Zynga’s other games sports.

The team behind Hidden Chronicles includes some big names like Cara  Ely (as Creative director), veteran hidden object game creator well known for creating the popular Dream Day Wedding series, and Margaret Foley-Mouvais, former art director for titles such as “The Lord of the Rings” and “The Godfather”.

Hidden object games have been around and popular for quite some time. Looking forward with a hope that Zynga’s little romance with this genre will bring about a breath of fresh air to this genre.

Zynga Released Its PrivacyVille Game: Less Of Gaming And More Of Tutorial

Credit: Zynga

Social gaming giant Zynga today released PrivacyVille, a fully gamified means of exploring the company’s privacy policies. It is less of a game and much as a tutorial. It let users to know on how Zynga deals with the issue of online privacy and also offer tips to players on how to play online safely and secure their personal information.

The game is design in a CityVille style map and through the flow of the game there is lot of learning about different aspect of online privacy such as email, personal information, online games and payments. The players are rewarded with zpoints, if correctly answered to test questions, which can later be exchanged for virtual items in Zynga games. The whole process takes a few minutes and its a great and engaging way to make sure that privacy policy makes sense and that users play and learn about it.

To play privacyVille game, you don’t have to register with Zynga or be connected with Facebook unlike Zynga’s other games. But if you are a registered Zynga player, then you will get the access to reward points(zPoints).

However, PrivacyVille game is to be considered as educational and is “not a substitute” for the company’s official privacy policy or privacy Center”. The game is indeed a “fun and rewarding way to learn about our key practices and information and resources that will assist you with general online privacy”.

Though the game is a bit irony because Zynga earns most of its money via Facebook and Zynga is making a privacy statement on Facebook and if something goes peeved about Facebook’s privacy policy then it will definitely affect the use of Zynga’s  application. But to the greater extend it encourage Zynga players to know how their personal data is being used.
