Microsoft is the latest high-profile company to admit being the victim of malware attack.
The tech giant said the attack was similar to the ones on Facebook and Apple.
“During our investigation, we found a small number of computers, including some in our Mac business unit, that were infected by malicious software using techniques similar to those documented by other organizations,” Microsoft said in a blog post.
And similar to the response of Facebook and Apple, Microsoft added that there is no evidence of customer data being affected by the attack.
As shared in earlier, these attacks are believed to be after intellectual property which is more rewarding investment in the long run rather than financial information.
However, I guess, these recent attacks via a malware attack is something to worry about… looking at the growing list and the increasing frequency.
On an unrelated incident, Microsoft Azure components reportedly went down worldwide, affecting many services including Xbox Live, due to an expired certificate.
